The Importance of Mindset in Job Interviews
You walk into an interview. You are well-qualified for the position, it’s a great opportunity and you really want this job. You’ve prepared and you’re ready.

Then sitting across the desk from the interviewer you start doubting yourself. It comes across. And even though you look good on paper, your demeanor is one of doubt. The interviewer decides you are not a good fit. Your lack of self-confidence has cost you- again.

Imagine having the tools to squash the doubts as soon as they come up. You are not focused on yourself, on making a good impression. You are outwardly focused and it shows. You are more concerned with how you can improve the company you are interviewing with than how you are perceived. You are genuinely interested in how you can benefit them. And they notice.

Since you are relaxed and confident your mind is clear and the answers to their questions come easily. They are able to see you as the asset that you are.

As in every part of life, managing our thoughts is foundational to our outcomes. These involve the choices we make in how we think about ourselves and our world every day.

These choices effect our mental state, they effect our lives. They are important.

Becoming aware is the first step.  Metacognition is the term for thinking about what we are thinking about and it is a practice worth developing. It is in this awareness that we can implement the process of neuroplasticity and intentionally rewire our brain by giving it new ways of thinking.

The process is simple and very effective when applied consistently.  That is key to creating real change. Working with a mindset coach who provides practical tools along with ongoing support is important to lasting success.
