Making way for the truth of the gospel to fill our minds
and change our lives

Imagine being free of the thoughts and resulting actions that leave you feeling defeated. Like you will never get it right. Feeling like this cloud of guilt will always be with you.  These thoughts rob us of the joy of intimate relationship with God.

Without that what we are doing is just religion.  There is no reality to it. We feel empty and wonder what is wrong with us.

The word repentance is the Greek word"metanoia" translated to change one's mind, to change the inner man.

Dallas Willard said, "reconsidering our considerations and rethinking our thinking, when well done with true repentance as it's highest objective, the kingdom of God is close at hand. "

Submission to God, obedience starts in our mind.  So does disobedience.   God's work of transformation starts and continues in our mind.  Cooperation with God's work in us starts and continues in our mind.

Repentance-the act of changing our mind is an ongoing practice of cooperating with God's work in us to make us more like Christ.

The recent work of brain science gives us insight into how the brain changes.  What was thought to be a static brain after a certain stage is now seen  through brain images to be actually very fluid and responsive to changes. Neuroplasticity-the science of the changing brain-is giving deeper understanding into how renewing our mind happens.

We don't need science to tell us that this is possible. The Bible tells us that it is possible.  It's the how along with consistency and accountability that we sometimes need to help us make progress.

I work with clients by combining science, scripture, examination and structure to work through steps to rewire their brain.  Learning to practice renewal and creating the habits, the rhythms, set you up for a lifetime of spiritual growth and increasing intimacy with Jesus.

Limiting beliefs:

The beliefs that limit God's work in our lives
and through our lives.

My areas of work

Many times in scripture we are told the importance of choosing our thoughts carefully.  We are told that transformation happens by the renewing of our mind.  Neuroscience with the help of technology shows that we actually rewire our brain by repeatedly changing our thoughts.  This is our part in our transformation-to choose thoughts that align with truth, with goodness. I help clients learn to recognize disempowering thoughts and replace them with the truth. More on Mindset Coaching
